Research under the COVID-19 condition – Eastern Europe as a Global Area

On 16 September 2020, the Leibniz ScienceCampus “Eastern Europe – Global Area” (EEGA) organised a small-scale event in place of the 2nd Regional Conference of the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies (BASEES) on “Globalising Eastern Europe – New Perspectives on Transregional Entanglements”, originally planned for September 2020 in Leipzig (for more information on this event see the Conference Website).

The two-part panel discussion (45 minutes each) focused on topical issues that have emerged in this turbulent year, and which will shape our work as researchers in the foreseeable future, namely 1) Research questions that arise because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and 2) Impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on practicalities of empirical research.
