Open Access Coaching

„Making the choice“: Audiences, varieties, chances and developments in Open Access Publications (March 2019) – EEGA/GWZO Coaching for Young Researchers

The coaching, organised by the Leibniz ScienceCampus “Eastern Europe-Global Area” (EEGA) and the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe (GWZO), focused on chances and developments in Open Access publishing. After some introductory words from Lena Dallywater (EEGA) and Christine Gölz (GWZO) Julian Bauer (Leibniz Association) spoke about activities and funding opportunities with regard to Open Access Publications within the Leibniz Association. He was followed by Karolin Bove (University Library of Leipzig) who informed about options, challenges and publication strategies in this specific field of publishing. Gudrun Wirtz (Bavarian State Library) as head of the Department of Eastern Europe gave an overview of Open Access in Eastern Europe Studies especially within the Bavarian State Library. A final discussion on the coaching’s topics and results with the three speakers and the audience completed the event.
