Announcement of roundtable discussion on 21.04.

As part of the EEGA BASEES Regional Conference, the Opening Keynote Roundtable Discussion „Globalising Belarus? – New Perspectives on Transregional Entanglements“ will take place on 21 April 2021 at 5 pm.

The discussion will focus on Belarus‘ transregional entanglements and their academic and artistic treatment before, during and after the protests. It will examine whether the perception of Belarus as a globally networked society has changed and how the extensive isolation of art, culture and science has developed.

The event will take place as a hybrid event in Leipzig and online via (GoToMeeting) and will be moderated by freelance journalist Gemma Pörzgen. Sebastian Lentz (speaker EEGA and IfL) and Matthias Neumann (BASEES) will open the panel.

We are pleased to welcome Stefan Rohdewald (historian, Leipzig University) and Alla Leukavets (EEGA Postdoc Fellow, researches domestic and foreign policy of Belarus) among the guests.

Date: Wednesday, 21 April, 5.00 pm

Further information on the guests and the registration form will follow.
